I was meeting some relatives in the Charlotte area a few weeks ago and we decided to go to Fish Market Bar and Grill in the Baxter Village in Ft. Mill, South Carolina. Ft. Mill is considered a suburb of the Charlotte area. I was in a rush and was looking for the restaurant in the retail area and walked right by this beautiful, Plantation style house with rocking chairs on the front porch. Yet, the restaurant was no where in sight, until I realized that beautiful white house was the restaurant!

Inside Fish Market Bar & Grill

Inside there is an elegant water fall, and upscale decor. The menu had a great lunch selection including several fish dishes, salads, sandwiches and more. I was in the mood for a salad, so I ordered the strawberry salad. The mixed greens and slices of strawberries were topped with some sliced almonds and served with a yummy apricot vinaigrette.

One of my cousins had the chicken salad that had chunks of granny smith apples adding a tartness to the sweetness of the mayonnaise. It also had chopped celery, and pecans and was served on a croissant roll.

My other cousin had the crab cake sandwich and was surprised to see the crab was still in the form of a crab and not just a patty. I think he was a bit surprised by that, but said it was good. The crab was coated in a panko crusted batter. The fries were the nice, thin kind with a lot of crunch to them.

Since I was so good at my lunch selection, I decided I could “cheat” and have a dessert. I picked the key lime pie, which was smooth and silky, with a very fresh key lime taste to it. I would recommend this pie if you are looking for something that is not to heavy or too sweet for dessert. My cousin had the chocolate cake which was also really wonderful (she let me try a bite!)
