Review – Chirba Chirba Food Truck

tray of dumplings, dipping sauces and drink

Nothing tastes better at times than a good dose of Chinese dumplings. There’s something comforting about those doughy little balls of delight. And now you can get your fix by following the Chirba Chirba food truck!
Until I visited their website, I did not know that Chirba Chirba literally means, “Eat, eat!” and what an appropriate name! I get excited every time I hear they are nearby and seek them out when I need a dumpling fix. My favorite dumpling was [...]

Review – Martin’s Curry Rice in Morrisville

samosa, small bowl of vegetables and rice

Sometimes you want to quick meal that’s inexpensive. But most of us don’t want to resort to the typical fast food place because we don’t want all the processed food. One nice alternative is Martin’s Curry Rice in Morrisville. The restaurant is located off of Highway 54 and Cary Parkway near the Carmike Theater, next to the Amante Pizza place.
Martin’s idea came from him visiting Japan, where he saw many people selling curry rice near the railroad tracks and on [...]

Beet Sundae Fantasy Fulfilled!

beet sundae

When my sister and I were younger, we were picky eaters (I was even more so than my sister). One thing we hated were beets. That was not the fault of the beet, but  in the way they were prepared. Back in the 70′s, people mainly ate them as canned beets or the dreaded pickled beets. To me, they were sour and bitter.

Review: Pie Pushers Food Truck – Pizza with Local Ingredients

Pie Pushers truck at the RTP food truck rodeo

I don’t know about you, but one food I usually crave is a good pizza. Nothing is better than one that is steaming hot, right out of the oven, with lots of mozzarella cheese and garlic!
There have been a couple of food trucks that feature pizza that have popped up in the Triangle area and one I particularly like is Pie Pushers. Pie Pushers truck is mainly seen around the city of Durham. They serve pizzas that feature locally grown, [...]

Review – The Parlour Food Truck in Durham

Lemon crumb cake

I was roaming around one of the many food truck rodeos the other day, chatting with the proprietors and trying many goodies. One of the places that caught my eye was the The Parlour  Ice Cream food truck. How can you not like ice cream? Our friends at BikeCOFFEE said that this truck is trending as one of the best restaurants on Yelp. That’s got to tell you something!
This ice cream really is “the bomb” too! They had so many [...]

Review – Will and Pops Food Truck

Green Will and Pops food truck

Over the past three years or so, the food truck revolution has taken off in the Triangle region. One of the first was Only Burger, which serves fresh, beef burgers. Another of the early food trucks was Will and Pop’s and I just recently got to try their food.
Will and Pop’s serves mainly gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. They have all kinds of interesting combinations such as one with duck meat and one with a chutney sauce. I decided to try [...]
